Oil Industry At Its Highest For Ten Years

Because of the cold weather which has affected parts of the United States and Britain, there has been an increase in the cost of crude oil. The price of a barrel of oil has further increased due to forecasts for continued cold weather in the United States. With prices continuing to rise the price of a barrel of crude oil is now hitting its highest level for five weeks with prices nearing the eighty dollar mark per barrel.

With the cold weather set to continue there is expected to be higher demand for heating oil and a dramatic reduction in the amount of crude oil reserves. Because of this, prices of a barrel of oil are expected to go beyond the eighty dollar mark before too long.

Although with the increased demand for heating oil is the knowledge that the economy in the United States seems to be on the up. Consumer confidence is growing and there are definite signs that the worst recession since the Second World War is coming to an end.

With a price rise of 78%, the oil industry has seen the biggest increase in a decade. There hasn’t been an increase as high since 1999 when oil prices rose by 112%. The decrease in oil reserves and the weak dollar are some of the reasons for the increase. With many experts forecasting that the prices of oil will continue to rise some fear that the price of oil could reach heights of ninety five dollars a barrel in 2010. Demand for oil will rise if the economy in the United States continues its upward trend and if businesses begin to recover and this will all help to push the prices of oil up even further.

There could also be further increases in prices if conflicts in some oil producing countries continue. Prices could dramatically inflate if there was anything which interrupted the supply of oil from these countries.

Getting the home heated up during winter can be very expensive. Gas and electricity are very expensive today, with no signs of prices coming down. Many individuals are now changing over to cheaper home heating oil though. When they do they always need their tanks filled with Boilerjuice to ensure they never run out.
