Forestry funds have been extended touted as vehicles to relatively safer, historically stable and ethically viable investments. Forestry investments as a portfolio diversification tool, when done properly, can compensate for losses occurring from other investments such as stocks and bonds, due to their relative lack of correlation to traditional investment types. Investing in forestry projects overseas is a common practice among forestry venture capitalists. There are, however, risks and challenges associated with placing your money on foreign green, which investors have to foresee and capture preventative measures to mitigate the risks.
