Abraham was living among the Hittites. When Sarah died, he needed to acquire a burial site for her. Genesis 23:9b is Abraham’s request of the Hittites. He wanted the Hittites to aid him in getting Ephron to assent to his purchasing part of his land for the burial site. Ephron was willing to give Abraham the land for autonomous of charge. However, Abraham wanted to pay complete value for the land. It is vital to be honest in all of our dealings.
