Small business owners who remember the excellent ancient days of inventory control will no doubt recall a huge heavy textbook with extended lists of products. There were columns for each week of the month and you’d place hash marks in the columns reminding the purchaser to order whatever was needed. At the end of the month, inventory was counted, usually by an outside corporation, with monthly sales reckoned against the inventory count.
