Indeed, as an investor I’ve always had a difficulty with shorting the market since I believe the stock market is to capitalize American businesses and it allows investors to share in the wealth of excellent companies. If someone is shorting a market index, our currency, or betting against US treasuries or municipal bonds, or the top US companies that just seems un-American. Anyone who would do that, I suppose I might forgive them if they were not an American, however when US based hedge funds do it, I am concerned.
