The Attention Quality Commission (CQC) is an independent regulatory body overseeing the provision of health and social attention in England. In 2010 the CQC started to assess a number of providers to ensure that they were meeting the essential standards, and therefore providing safe and effective attention and treatment. Initially there were only some health and social attention sectors and providers that were required to gain CQC registration, however as age progresses, and legislation evolves, fresh providers are finding themselves falling within the scope of registration.
