There are hundreds of thousands of structures that are demolished every year making over 100 million tons of debris. The fresh construction action with waste and unused resources contributes a substantially lower however significant part of landfill waste. Landfills are a growing difficulty; containment of the material is an issue from both what flows into the ground and what type of emissions rise into the atmosphere.
