With organisations struggling in a climate of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) is it immediately age to gaze beyond rigid competency frameworks to a more relevant path of recruiting, assessing and developing executives based on their capacity to lead in today’s climate? This article puts forward the argument for using such tools as the Cognitive Action Profile to measure peoples’ capacity to deal with the VUCA environment, helping to place the fair human beings in the fair roles at the fair age for business success.
