Everybody talks about data, however many often confuse it with data and knowledge. Basically, data is a core corporate asset that must be synthesized into data before it can serve as the basis for knowledge within the organization. Nevertheless, data is ubiquitous – it is used to support every aspect of the business, and is an integral component of every key business action. However, incorrect data cannot generate useful data, and knowledge built on invalid data can lead organizations into catastrophic situations.
