Making A Swap Meet A Fundraiser.

Coming up with ideas for fundraisers can be tough. Always being after the new, the fun and exciting to attract people and raise more money can be difficult. Fun fairs and sales of sorts have been done to death. However, devising a cleaver swap meet so that the only money spent is for admission at the gate, can be a nice spin on an old idea. Charge people to get in, then they are free to trade away!

An admission cost of ten or even twenty dollars is not unreasonable at all. Besides that people just need to bring with them items that they want to swap with others. Someone in need of new clothes because they have either gained or lost weight need not spend huge amounts of money on a new wardrobe, they just need to trade what they have for what they need.

Do you think a Henckels knife set is outside of your means? Think about what you might have that is of similar value and take it along. How wonderful would it be to get exactly what you want without having to spend the money to buy it!

Knife sets are so common they are laughable. Every home has at least one, right? Some people always feel they need more though, so are ready and willing to trade something else, such as a blender or food processor, in order to get one from you. The entire event could really help you to better equip your kitchen.

You and your neighbor both need some items. You each have what the other needs. Instead of having a conversation, you both go to the store and spend a couple hundred dollars. By figuring out what is going on sooner, you could save the time and money. Exchange the grilling accessories for the hockey skates at the meet and be done with it!

What would you trade a roasting pan for? A Dutch over perhaps? How about a pressure cooker? Take your time to walk around and figure it out. You can trade and swap to your own content, and all to support a charity.

When you think about how much money people will be saving by trading with their neighbors it almost seems like more of a community service than anything. The admissions fees that you collect will easily raise hundreds of dollars for your organization. To get it done in a single afternoon will make even better for everyone.
